What to do if Cymbidium orchid root rots

What to do if Cymbidium orchid root rots

Causes of root rot

Diseases

The roots of Cymbidium orchids are infected by fungi or bacteria, causing a disease that is one of the important diseases of orchids in the north and south. When the disease first occurs, water-like spots will appear on the fleshy roots, which will then gradually turn black and rot, causing the leaf tips to dry out.

Root damage

The orchid with rotten roots was likely to have damaged or broken roots. If too much fertilizer is applied during the maintenance process, and watering or other treatments are not performed in time, the damage to the injured part will be aggravated. In addition, the roots will be damaged during the repotting process, causing root rot.

Treatment

You can use 600 times solution of 75% methyl thiophanate wettable powder or 900 times solution of 50% tolclorac wettable powder for spraying.

The concentration of Huabao is too high. Generally, the best concentration is 0.2 thousandths of gram. Add 0.2 grams of Huabao for every 1,000 milliliters of water.

If the grass has begun to rot, re-pot it with clean water. Do not use fertilizer during this period. Winter will come in three months. You can spray Huabao on the leaves, about once every 15-20 days. Sterilization should be carried out once every 15 days, so that there is a chance that the diseased roots can be revived.
