The four seasons change, and the succulents are very different in season

The four seasons change, and the succulents are very different in season

Spring (March to May)

During the year, most succulent species begin to enter their growth period. As the temperature slowly rises, the roots of the plants begin to grow actively. At this time, the water in the flowerpots will dry up quickly and need to be watered.

Move the succulents outdoors and maintain them in an outdoor environment with wind and sunlight. However, the temperature difference between day and night in spring is large, and if you are not careful, you may be burned by the strong sunlight. You can choose to cover the surface with newspaper when it is cloudy, and then remove it after it gets used to the sunlight. Try to bring the succulents indoors for maintenance at night.

Summer (June to August)

Summer is a tough time for succulents. During this period, the humidity is high and the temperature is high, so it can survive solely on the moisture in the air and does not need direct watering. But smaller succulents do not store much water and find it difficult to survive the three months of summer. If you see that the leaves have become thinner and show signs of wilting, it is best to water it on a cool evening.

When keeping succulents indoors in summer, remember to ventilate them in time. Be sure not to place it in a closed room. You can turn on the air conditioner, but please don't place it in a wind vent, as it will cause stress to the plant.

Autumn (September to November)

Autumn is the best time for succulents to recover after a hot summer. As the weather gradually gets cooler, the red-leafed succulents begin to turn red. Those varieties that had strict water control in the summer begin to become plump and energetic due to watering in the autumn, and it is a good opportunity to grow again. Succulents that have been placed in the shade to avoid direct sunlight can be moved out to get some sun. Very weak light cannot make the leaves turn red.

Winter (December to February)

In fact, succulents can survive the winter very easily. As the temperature drops, reduce watering to prevent the succulents from freezing. Control water as you would in the summer, and especially for particularly cold-hardy varieties, cut off water completely.

Varieties that are not hardy will drop their leaves and stop growing completely. If you see this situation, you must not water it. You must be patient and wait until it starts to sprout in spring. It needs to be placed indoors in winter and moved to the window during the day to allow it to get light. However, even indoors, it will be as cold near the window as outside, so remember to bring it indoors at night.
