1. Aliases

Its aliases include golden millet, sweet olive, osmanthus, and rock osmanthus. It is a plant of the genus Oleaceae. There are many varieties of it, among which four are representative, namely laurel, red osmanthus, golden osmanthus, and silver osmanthus. It can be planted on both sides of the road. It not only greens the environment, but also has a strong fragrance when it blooms. It can be regarded as a tree species that combines beautification, greening and fragrance. 2. Appearance

It is an evergreen shrub or tree, usually between 3 and 5 meters tall, and the tallest can reach 18 meters. The leaves are leathery, oblong or elliptical in shape, pointed at the tip, broadly cuneate at the base, and hairless on both sides. Even in the coldest winter, the leaves will not wither.

When the flowers bloom, they are in cymes, growing in the leaf axils, with multiple flowers in each axil. The flowers are relatively small, and the bracts are broadly ovate in shape.
