Breeding methods and precautions of succulent peach eggs

Breeding methods and precautions of succulent peach eggs

1. Maintenance methods

1. Soil: Peach egg needs soil with good air permeability as a substrate. It can be mixed with peat soil, perlite and cinder in equal proportions. This not only facilitates ventilation, but also stores a certain amount of water without flooding the roots.

2. Sunlight: Peach eggs need sunlight all day long. In hot summer weather, proper shade can be provided to prevent the leaves from losing water due to strong sunlight.

3. Watering: If the substrate has good water retention properties, watering does not need to be too frequent, and the amount of water should not be too much. Generally, it is sufficient to water the plants 3-4 times a month in summer. Water should be given near the pot, not directly on the plants. If the leaves fall off, it means there is too much water and it needs to be drained.

4. Fertilization: Do not apply too much fertilizer to peach egg plants. Generally, 4-5 times a year is enough. Use more slow-release fertilizers that take effect more slowly so that nutrients can be provided continuously.

2. Breeding techniques

As a succulent plant, peach egg is often propagated by leaf cuttings. It is usually carried out in spring and autumn. Select complete and full leaves and insert them into moist and loose soil. Place it in semi-shade to avoid sunlight and spray water to keep it moist. Generally, new roots and leaves will grow after a few weeks, and at this time you can cover them with a layer of fine sand.

3. Pest and disease control

Peach eggs are rarely attacked by pests and diseases. In addition to paying attention to daily maintenance, you can also use carbendazim for prevention. You can also sprinkle some furadan on the soil, but this drug is highly toxic, so be careful when using it.
