How to plant orange seedlings

How to plant orange seedlings

1. Planting time

Orange seedlings are suitable for planting in spring and autumn. The specific time is generally from February to March before the spring shoots sprout and from September to November after the autumn shoots mature. It is not easy to survive if planted in summer and winter.

2. Prune the roots

The first thing to do when planting orange tree seedlings is to prune the roots. The main thing is to cut off excess roots to ensure that the root size is suitable for the soil pit or flower pot to avoid breaking during planting.

3. Planting saplings

Dig a hole before planting. The width and depth of the pit should not exceed one meter, and it is best to control it at around 80 centimeters. After digging the hole, you can plant the sapling in it. After planting, straighten it and start filling with soil. While filling the soil, you can lift the sapling appropriately. After filling, press the soil to ensure better contact between the roots and the soil. If you are planting multiple plants, the distance between them should not be less than 3 meters.

4. Maintenance methods

1. Watering: In addition to watering the plants to ensure that they have established roots after planting, watering should usually be done before 10 a.m. or after 4 p.m. Water once in spring and autumn, more often in summer when the soil is dry, and less water in winter.

2. Fertilization: It is advisable to fertilize orange trees with thin fertilizers and apply them frequently. Do not apply too much fertilizer at a single time, once a week is enough, and more fertilizer can be applied during flowering.

3. Pest and disease control: Red spider mites are one of the most common pests. They can be controlled by spraying diluted mite control liquid.
