How to keep flowers warm in winter

How to keep flowers warm in winter

The temperature is relatively low in winter, and many flowers are not suitable for outdoor maintenance. Insulation measures must be taken. However, different insulation methods can be used for different varieties, and they must be cultivated according to the suitable temperature for overwintering.

1. Increase outdoor lighting

For more cold-resistant flowers, they can survive in low temperature environments. When keeping warm in winter, they do not need to be moved indoors. They can be placed in a place with sufficient light to increase the temperature and survive normally. They can be placed outdoors or on a balcony with sufficient light.

2. Indoor heating protection

Some varieties that are not resistant to severe cold but are suitable for room temperature maintenance need to be placed indoors to keep warm when the temperature starts to drop to around 10 degrees in winter.

3. Bagging, lighting and heat preservation

Some plants also need relatively high temperatures to survive the winter, such as jasmine and daffodils. We need to move them indoors when the temperature drops to 12 degrees in winter. When the temperature is below 5 degrees, cover them with plastic bags and use scissors to poke a few holes for ventilation. In order to avoid lack of light when growing indoors, move the plants to a sunny window or balcony at noon when the weather is good, let them receive sunlight for a while, and then move them back after the temperature drops in the evening.
