Cultivation methods and precautions of four-season azalea

1. Moisture

Watering it is a technical job. Generally, the water we need to use requires a pH below 7.0. If the water quality in the area is alkaline, we can store rainwater for watering, or use snow water. If conditions permit, fish tank water and river water are also very good. Of course, you can also acidify it yourself, for example using vinegar.

In addition, we also need to keep the water and flowers at the same temperature for a while, so that the temperature difference will not be too large. If the flower soil is not dry, we don't need to water it, but we can't let it be too dry, otherwise the leaves of the flowers will wilt. Also, once watered, water thoroughly.

Moreover, the temperature in winter and summer cannot be the same. It can be a little wet in summer, but not in winter. And you cannot water it too much when it is blooming, otherwise the flowers will easily wither early. In spring and autumn, it should be exposed to the wind.

2. Pests and diseases

Because it will be invaded by military insects, so when this kind of insect comes, we have to use some reagents to kill it. If it is a bud roller, you can catch it and kill it yourself. Of course, its larvae or pupae can also be killed with reagents such as DDT.

3. Note

There are a lot of things to note. Because its roots are very thin and the taproot is not very thick, we cannot let it be too dry or too wet, and we cannot apply heavy fertilizer to it. Once heavy fertilizer is applied, its growth will be problematic.

After the flowers fade, we need to cut off the remaining flowers to prevent them from growing seeds, as this will consume nutrients. Also, after new branches grow out, we need to cut off some branches according to their growth.

It prefers clay pots because clay pots are more breathable and the roots can grow better.

In addition, its placement is still particular. It should generally be placed in a ventilated southeast position. This way, there will be good lighting conditions, and secondly, it can provide a good air environment to prevent it from growing black spots or falling leaves due to lack of ventilation.
