Jasmine is a common ornamental flower . Its flowers are white, fresh and elegant, and have a unique fragrance. It is known as "the best fragrance in the world". It can usually be propagated by sowing and cuttings, and cuttings are generally used more frequently and have a higher survival rate. So how do you propagate jasmine by cuttings? Let’s learn more about it below. 1. Cutting time The best time to take jasmine cuttings is in spring and autumn. All conditions in spring and autumn are more suitable. Taking jasmine cuttings at this time can increase the survival rate. 2. Cutting selection Choose strong cuttings. Cuttings with their own growth potential will grow faster and are more likely to survive. Generally, current year, semi-lignified branches are selected, with a length of about 10 cm and 2-3 nodes retained. 3. Cutting medium The substrate should be fertile and well-ventilated soil. Generally, you can mix garden soil, humus soil and a certain amount of sand and gravel. 4. Do a good job of disinfection Before cutting, spray the soil with 0.3% potassium permanganate solution for disinfection, or use high-temperature steaming to disinfect. 5. Cutting operation Insert the prepared cuttings into the substrate to a depth of about 3-5 cm. Lightly compact the soil so that the cuttings are firmly attached to the substrate. Use a watering can to gently spray water to keep the substrate moist. Cover the seedling pots or blocks with clear plastic wrap to retain moisture. 6. Management after cutting After cuttings, the cultivation pots or seedbeds should not be placed in direct sunlight, but should be slightly shaded to maintain a certain amount of light. The temperature should be kept at 20-25℃. When the temperature exceeds 30℃, the rooting of the cuttings will be significantly reduced. When the temperature is above 35℃, it will be difficult for the cuttings to take root. If the temperature is too high, you can cool it down by spraying water on the leaves of the cuttings, increasing ventilation, and sprinkling water on the ground. After the cuttings have taken root and sprouted 2-3 pairs of new leaves, they can be transplanted into pots with soil. In general, the jasmine cutting propagation method is simple and easy to survive. But please note that jasmine cuttings must be carried out in a suitable environment, and some cutting techniques must be mastered, so that healthy jasmine plants can be successfully cultivated.
