How to open and eat durian

How to open and eat durian

1. How to open a durian

Pry it open along the crack: Generally, a ripe durian will have a crack on it. You can use a fruit knife to cut a circle on the skin along the crack and slowly pry it open.

Lift the fruit stalk and knock it open: You can lift the cracked durian's fruit stalk and then knock its tail against the ground. This also makes it easier to open the durian, but be aware that durian opened in this way cannot be stored for too long and needs to be eaten as soon as possible.

Cut from the tail: For those durians without cracks, you can use a fruit knife to cut a part of the tail, and then you can see the lines on it. At this time, insert a fruit knife into the grain and cut along the lines, then use your hands to break it open and take out the flesh.

2. How to eat durian

First, use a fruit knife to cut off the raised part at the tail of the durian, and then you can see the texture inside the durian. After seeing the lines, use a fruit knife to cut along the lines, then break it open with your hands to take out the durian flesh.

After taking out the pulp, you can eat it directly in small bites, or you can cut it into small cubes and mix it with an appropriate amount of slightly melted ice cream to make durian ice cream. This method can slightly mask the smell of durian itself.

It should be noted that durian contains too much fiber, so try not to eat too much at one time, no more than 100 grams at most, otherwise it will easily cause bloating.
