How to care for newly bought leek

How to care for newly bought leek

1. How to care for newly bought Allium orchid

The newly bought Allium orchid needs a warm and humid environment for it to mature in the pot. First of all, it needs to be given enough water to keep the soil slightly moist, but there should be no water accumulation. Do not apply fertilizer at this time to prevent root burn. It is afraid of strong light, so it should be placed in a semi-shaded environment for maintenance.

2. Specific breeding methods

1. Soil: Allium orchid has certain requirements for soil conditions. Sticky, powdery, and alkaline soils cannot grow for it. We need to use loose humus soil. This kind of soil has good drainage and can better help it absorb nutrients and water.

2. Temperature: It is suitable for growing in a warm environment. When it is just bought, it needs to be placed in an environment with a temperature of about 22℃ for maintenance. It is not resistant to high temperatures. When the temperature is higher than 35℃, its growth will be slow, so appropriate shade and cooling are needed in summer, and frequent ventilation is required. It should not be placed in a low temperature environment for a long time. When the temperature is below 10℃, it will stop growing. Warm measures need to be taken in winter.

3. Light: It tolerates shade and does not like strong light. When you first buy it, you need to place it in a semi-shaded environment or an environment with diffuse light for maintenance. Do not place it directly under the sun for maintenance. Once burned, it will be difficult to recover. When the light is strong in summer, shade should be provided.

4. Watering: It is afraid of waterlogging and is not drought-tolerant, so it needs to be provided with a moist growing environment. When you first buy it, its growth rate is relatively slow. Give it enough water at first, and then reduce the watering frequency as appropriate to keep the soil in the pot slightly moist. Under normal circumstances, in spring and autumn, water the plants about once every 20 days. Each time you water them, make sure they are watered thoroughly. Spray some water on them appropriately to increase the humidity of the air. In summer, water the plants about once a week. If the weather is drier, increase the number of waterings appropriately. In winter, you need to reduce the number and amount of watering and keep the soil dry so that they can safely survive the winter.

5. Fertilization: It likes fertilizer, so you need to temporarily stop fertilizing it when you just buy it. Under normal circumstances, except in winter, a thin liquid fertilizer should be applied once a month. The time for fertilization is generally chosen when the temperature is relatively moderate during the day and the sunlight is not strong. After fertilization, keep the leaves and flowers dry at night. The next day, you can water appropriately to dilute the fertilizer.
