1. Information about Mimosa

Morphology: Mimosa, also known as "shy grass" and "sensitive grass", is a perennial herb, but is mostly cultivated as an annual. It grows about 30 to 60 centimeters tall, with feathery leaves that close when stimulated. Mimosa also blooms. The flowers are light pink in color, with four-lobed petals in a head-shaped inflorescence. The flowering period is from July to October every year.

Growing environment: Mimosa has strong adaptability. Its original growing environment is relatively harsh, so it has strong vitality. It likes warm and humid environment and is suitable for cultivation in moist and fertile soil. In addition, Mimosa pudica likes light and is not cold-resistant, so the growing environment requires sufficient sunlight and suitable temperature. But it can also tolerate partial shade and is now often grown as a home ornamental plant.

Medicinal use: Mimosa is also a medicine. Although it contains slight toxins, its medicinal value is higher, so it must be taken according to the doctor's instructions. It has the effects of calming the nerves, detoxifying and removing blood stasis, stopping bleeding and promoting diuresis, and can be used to treat neurasthenia, hemoptysis and bruises.

Predicting weather and earthquakes: People can judge weather changes by observing the leaves of mimosa. If your leaves close and then open quickly after you touch them, it means it may rain. If they close and open slowly, the weather will soon clear up. Under normal circumstances, its leaves will open during the day and close at night. If you find that the closing situation of the leaves is suddenly reversed or even shrinks quickly, then there may be an earthquake soon.
