What to do if Christmas cactus is frozen

What to do if Christmas cactus is frozen

1. Are you susceptible to cold?

It freezes very easily. This is because it is very sensitive to temperature, especially in winter. If the temperature drops below five degrees Celsius, it is easy to get frostbite. In some very southern areas, if the temperature is not low, you don't need to pay too much attention. However, if you are in an area slightly further north, the temperature in winter can easily drop below zero degrees, so you must be careful. Therefore, friends who raise fish in these areas need to pay attention in late autumn and throughout the winter. If you find that it shows signs of being frozen, you must take timely measures so that it may recover. If you wait until the condition becomes very serious, remedial measures will be of little use.

2. Consequences of frost damage

First, its leaves may droop and appear listless. In severe cases, it may even fall off directly. In addition, its flowering period is from September to April of the following year, and winter is well within this range. Then it is easy to understand that after being frozen, the flower buds will fall off easily, or only a few flowers will be formed.

3. Remedial measures

If it is a plant grown at home and is still placed outdoors, bring it indoors for maintenance; if it is still frozen indoors, observe the environment around it and take artificial warming measures. In addition, it can also be taken to the greenhouse for maintenance. Alternatively, you can take some other cold-proof measures, such as covering with plastic film. Let me reiterate here that timely remedial measures must be taken.

4. Notes

In addition to temperature, special attention should be paid to light in winter. Especially when it is flowering, light is essential.
