If roses don’t bloom, solve the problem with 3 tips!

Most roses can bloom several times a year. If a rose does not bloom or only blooms once and then nothing happens, do not spoil it. Learn from it quickly and let it develop the good habit of blooming frequently!

1. Increase lighting

Roses like light and need at least 6 hours of light every day. Many flower lovers do not have direct sunlight in their homes, which cannot meet the rose's demand for light, so the buds are not seen for a long time.

Flower lovers who have the conditions can move the roses directly to a place with stronger light, water them every morning and evening, and the activity of the roses will be enhanced, and they will begin to wake up and bloom.

If you don't have a strong light at home, you can use a light to supplement the light. It is best to use a small LED table lamp and shine it on the rose for 2-3 hours at night.

2. Insufficient fertility

Roses are big eaters and consume a lot of fertilizer. Maybe there was some slow-release fertilizer in the soil when you first bought it, but it was used up after just a few flowers bloomed. The rest will either bloom sporadically or not bloom at all!

Buying fertilizer for roses is a big expense. We can make our own fertilizer. Here are some methods. They are very simple and do not smell bad.

a. Eggshell and peel fertilizer (nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium)

Eggshells (nitrogen), banana peels (potassium), orange peels (phosphorus), etc., boiled in water and dried, can be crushed into slag with a light grind. Save two handfuls and add them to the pot every month, and the nutrition will be basically balanced!

b. Fish intestine fertilizer (phosphate fertilizer)

The fish intestines here refer to fish offal, such as fish fins and fish viscera, which can be used as fish intestine fertilizer. If you have outdoor roses at home, you can bury these fish offal 20cm away from the roots.

The roses in the pot at home will have a peculiar smell when they are buried with fertilizer. In addition to burying less and deeper, you can also cook the fish offal first, ferment it into fertilizer water, and then water the roses. It is not only easy to absorb, but also has no peculiar smell.

3. Pruning flowers and blind branches

Roses are very nutritious when they bloom, so you can trim the flowers when they bloom and use them for flower arrangement. This can also preserve the nutrients of the mother plant and make it bloom faster next time.

Blind branches must be pruned. There are no buds on the top of the blind branches and they will no longer grow flower buds. Keeping them will only waste nutrients. Flower lovers must not make the wrong decision when pruning them!

Hydrangea only grows leaves but no flowers

Hydrangeas only bloom once a year. If yours hasn’t bloomed yet, you really need to act quickly, or you’ll have to wait until next year!

1. Proper exposure to light, control of water and fertilizer

Although hydrangeas are afraid of the sun, they cannot bloom without light. It is best to place the hydrangeas in a place with scattered light. Water them after 1-2 days if they wilt a little. Stop fertilizing during this period to improve the activity of the hydrangeas.

2. Pruning

Hydrangeas that only grow leaves but no flowers are usually one year old or more. Hydrangeas can only bloom on old branches. If they are not pruned or pruned too late, the branches will grow too long and the tree will not bloom next year.

Hydrangeas should be pruned before July, until they are only 20 cm high from the ground. Then, with normal maintenance, they do not need to be pruned again in autumn, winter, or the spring of the following year. The flowers will definitely bloom in full bloom in the second year!

Gardenia buds fall off and do not bloom

Everyone loves gardenias, but there are many problems with their flowering. If you grow them well, they will bloom continuously, but if you don't grow them well, you won't see any flowers at all.

1. Ensure more than 4 hours of sunlight per day

Gardenia needs sufficient light to bloom. Gardenia that does not get enough light will not only have yellow leaves and no flowers, but even the flower buds will fall off!

2. Use decomposed rice water to water the gardenia

Put rice water in a plastic bottle, place it on the windowsill in the sun for 1-2 weeks to decompose, then add water (1:2000) to water the gardenia. This can supplement phosphate fertilizer and also help promote flowering.

There is also a special effect fertilizer for promoting flowering: watering gardenia with potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution, which can also quickly promote flowering.

White palm is late in blooming

In fact, the flowering period of white palm is very long, and the flowering can last for several months. If your white palm has not bloomed yet, it is most likely that you have grown a green radish.

1. Proper light and increase humidity

Although anthuriums are afraid of the sun, they must have sufficient light to bloom. What can we do? Huahua recommends that you place the white calla lily in a brightly lit area, such as a north balcony, a small window sill with diffused light, or a corridor.

The stronger the light, the more evaporation from the leaves. Spray water on the white palm every day to keep it moist. It will bloom soon.

2. Spray gibberellic acid solution to promote flowering

Since white palms are slow to bloom, we can also use chemical methods to accelerate their flowering. Gibberellic acid, which can be bought for one or two yuan, can be mixed with clean water at a ratio of 1:300 and sprayed on white palms. They will bloom in a few days.

The above method is also applicable to Anthurium. If your Anthurium does not bloom, try this method.

Bougainvillea grows into a tree that does not bloom

Bougainvillea is known as a flower-blooming machine. When it blooms, you can't even see its leaves. Is yours still blooming?

1. Insufficient light, pruning to increase light

Bougainvillea likes light, so it is best to place it in a place with full sunlight, such as a south balcony or a south-facing windowsill. If it is exposed to more sunlight, it will bloom in about a week.

Bougainvillea with sufficient water and fertilizer is particularly prone to long branches. Too many thin branches will affect the light. You can trim the thin branches to increase the light for flowering.

2. Control water for about 21 days

Controlling water can not only promote flowering, but also enhance the vitality of bougainvillea: let it be thirsty for a few days, until the leaves droop for half a day, then water it again, and then let it be thirsty again after watering. Repeat this for about 21 days, and it will almost bloom.

Geraniums grow into grass, without a single flower

The flowering period of geranium is from April to July, but in fact, if it is well cared for, it can bloom all year round. However, others' flowers are blooming, but yours is just a pot of grass

1. Appropriate lighting and slight pruning

Geraniums like light. Now the sun is not very strong, so you can expose them directly to the sun. If the temperature exceeds 36 degrees, you can just shade them.

The flower buds of geraniums are easily blocked by dense leaves and cannot get sunlight, so you have to pick off the leaves. This is not topping them, just pick off the leaves and don't pinch the heart!

2. Control water appropriately and add phosphorus and potassium fertilizers

Some flower lovers have geraniums with slender branches, which look artistic, but they are actually leggy. At this time, you need to control the water appropriately. When the leaves wilt a little, water them again. Repeat 3-5 times, and flower buds will appear.

Geraniums that look relatively thin can be supplemented with some phosphorus and potassium fertilizers. Fruit peels can be soaked in water for about 15 days, mixed with clean water (1:2000) to water the flowers, or some bone meal can be added to the potting soil to supplement the fertilizer.

If the Clivia doesn’t bloom, drink some wine!

1. Avoid light appropriately to prevent growth cessation
