Therefore, the best time to plant is in spring, usually around March to April; the second best time is autumn, usually around September to October.

What are the methods for growing cosmos?

1. Planting

First, put the prepared seeds into a small plastic bag, and then place it in a dry and cool place to keep the seeds fresh. Then prepare the flower pot, a large pot with a diameter of 15 cm will do, and then fill it with garden soil. After determining the planting time, sprinkle the seeds in the flowerpot and cover them with a thin layer of soil. Finally, pour enough water to help the seeds take root, and place the flowerpot in a cool place for maintenance. Basically, they will sprout after a week.

2. Cuttings

(1) Cutting selection: In spring or autumn, select strong young branches and cut about 10-15 cm as cuttings.

(2) Soil preparation: The soil for cuttings should be kept permeable and sandy loam with good drainage can be used. At the same time, before cuttings, they need to be exposed to the sun for disinfection.

(3) Cutting operation: Cuttings are planted in clusters of 3 to 5 plants in the prepared soil, with 4 to 5 cm exposed above the ground. Water and shade the plants, and they will take root after half a month.

(4) Management after cutting: Watering and shading are required after cutting. Generally, the cuttings will take root half a month after cutting. After the branches have taken root, it is recommended to apply a thin fertilizer solution once every 15 days. When the cuttings grow to 15 cm, the top buds need to be removed, which will help promote more branches. If managed properly, it will generally bloom about 45 days after cuttings.

In general, the method of growing cosmos is relatively simple. As long as you master some basic techniques, you can grow beautiful cosmos. But please note that whether it is sowing or cuttings, it must be planted at the right time, and never plant it too early or too late.
