Jujube tree is a native tree species in my country and has a long history of cultivation. It has strong adaptability to growth and is suitable for planting in a wide area. Currently, many regions in my country have a tradition of planting jujube trees. So how do you plant jujube trees? Let’s learn more about it below. 1. Garden selection Jujube trees have strong adaptability and are not very demanding on soil conditions; all regions can make full use of wasteland and saline-alkali land for cultivation. However, in order to achieve the goal of high quality and high yield, we should try to choose a garden where the air, water, soil and other environments are not polluted, the terrain is flat and open, the drainage conditions are good, the soil has strong permeability and good ventilation, the groundwater level is high, and the soil is fertile. 2. Planting time Date trees can be planted in spring and autumn. The best time in spring is generally from early May to early June, and the best planting time in autumn is from early October to early November. Before planting, just be sure to choose high-quality seedlings that are healthy, insect-free, and have strong root systems. 3. Planting method When planting, first apply well-rotted manure and other organic fertilizers in the planting ditch, mix it thoroughly with the topsoil and then backfill it into the hole. Then fill in another layer of soil, tamp it down slightly, then place the seedlings in the middle of the hole, straighten out the roots, fill in the soil and tamp it down so that the roots are in close contact with the soil. After planting, water thoroughly and cover with a layer of loose soil. The general spacing between rows and plants is 3×4 meters, with 56 plants per mu, or 2 meters×3 meters, with 112 plants per mu. 4. Field management Do a good job in water and fertilizer management. Generally, topdressing can be carried out before budding, during flowering and young fruit stages in the first and middle ten days of the month. At the same time, pay attention to tillage, weeding and soil loosening to conserve moisture. During the growing season, especially after rainfall and watering, the soil in the date garden should be shallowly hoeed in time to a depth of 6-10 cm, and weeds should be removed. This can reduce the competition for water and nutrients by weeds, loosen the soil, reduce evaporation, promote soil microbial activity, and increase soil fertility. 5. Reasonable pruning Pruning jujube trees can adjust the tree's vigor and make full use of nutrients. When pruning, the main method is thinning, combining cutting and shortening. And proceed according to the principles of clearing dense branches, removing crossed branches, pruning drooping branches, compressing excessively high branches, lightly pinching back strong trees, and heavily pinching back weak trees. 6. Release bees for pollination The jujube tree is a typical insect-pollinated flower and cannot be pollinated by itself or by wind. But its nectar is rich and fragrant, so bees are the best pollinators. During the flowering period, beehives are evenly placed in the date orchard, with the distance between beehives not exceeding 300 meters. Using bees to collect pollen and pollinate can greatly increase the fruit set rate. In general, as one of the fruit trees with the longest planting history in my country, the jujube tree has accumulated rich planting experience. During the planting process, as long as you do the above-mentioned detailed management work, it will not be difficult to harvest high-yield jujube trees.
