What to do if the leaves of the umbrella tree turn black

reason

The main factors that may cause the leaves of the umbrella-leaf plant to turn black are as follows: pests and diseases; improper fertilization; and the planting environment is not suitable for the growth of umbrella-leaf plants, which mainly includes light conditions, ventilation conditions and amount of watering.

Solution

Pests and diseases

If the leaves of the umbrella plant you cultivate turn black first and then rot, it may be caused by bacteria. At this time, it is recommended that you spray some antibacterial drugs such as "carbendazim" on the leaves; if you find obvious small insects on their leaves, you can choose to spray "Black Tornado", and the situation will get better after a period of time after the insects are removed.

Improper fertilization

If the fertilizer is not applied properly to the umbrella plant, "leaf burn" will occur, which is also the main reason for the color change of the umbrella plant's leaves. If you apply a small amount of fertilizer each time but black leaves still appear, it is possible that the fertilizer was too close to the roots of the umbrella plant during the fertilization process.

Improper growing environment

The umbrella plant is a sun-loving plant, so make sure the plant receives sufficient light. However, the umbrella plant is not resistant to high temperatures, so you should still pay attention to it in hot weather such as midsummer. Because the cymbidium is generally cultivated as an indoor foliage plant, some friends may ignore its need for light. If the growing environment is too dark, it will cause the cymbidium to drop leaves.

Precautions

Indoor ventilation conditions and the drainage of the soil selected for cultivation are equally important. Keep the environment around the umbrella plant relatively dry, and water it when the soil in the pot is 80% dry (at least on the surface).
