1. Planting method

1. Seed treatment: Tomato seeds need to be soaked before sowing. Generally, soak it in clean water, take it out and replace it with 55℃ hot water, control the water temperature, soak it for 15 minutes, then change to warm water and soak it for 3-4 hours. This can prevent some diseases. In addition, you can also soak the seeds in trisodium phosphate solution. After soaking, the seeds need to be germinated. Squeeze the juice from frozen potato tubers and put the seeds in it. The next day, take out the seeds and put them on a cloth. Cover them with plastic film to keep them moist. Make sure it is breathable and put them in a warm place to germinate.

2. Soil preparation: Before preparing for sowing, you need to prepare nutrient soil. The porosity of the soil should be around 60%, and it is best to be neutral or slightly acidic. Adding an appropriate amount of compound fertilizer to ensure that the soil contains a certain amount of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium elements will help the growth of the plants. After the soil is prepared, spread it evenly on the sowing bed.

3. Sowing method: There are three ways to sow tomatoes, namely row sowing, spot sowing and broadcast sowing. Generally, the seeds are planted on the surface of the soil and then covered with a layer of fine soil with a thickness of less than 1 cm. Sprinkle carbendazim powder on the seedbed to prevent damping-off disease. In winter and spring, the ground needs to be covered with mulch, and in summer and autumn, the shade net needs to be put up. After the seedlings grow, the ground film or shade net needs to be removed.

4. Subsequent maintenance: True leaves will usually appear 7-9 days after sowing, and the temperature should be maintained between 25-28℃. Since the plant is relatively drought-tolerant but not waterlogged, you must control watering and not water it too much. Appropriate fertilizer should be applied during the growing period, but do not focus on nitrogen fertilizer. Generally, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers are used, and seedling-promoting fertilizers can be applied after planting.
