How to cap the top of a fortune tree after it has been cut off

How to cap the top of a fortune tree after it has been cut off

1. How to cap

After sawing off the trunk of the money tree, apply a little wood ash for disinfection. After the wood ash is absorbed, seal it with wax or paint. Just apply it on the surface of the tree trunk, it can play a certain role in heat preservation, and can also prevent water loss and pests and diseases.

2. Roofing and Maintenance

1. Timely warming: If the trunk is sawed off in winter, better warming measures need to be provided for the money tree. The ambient temperature should not be lower than 5℃, as low temperature will cause it to freeze. If the room temperature does not meet the standard, you can wrap the tree trunk with two layers of plastic film and put a layer of cotton in the middle to keep it warm.

2. Stop watering: It is not advisable to water it during the maintenance period. Without branches and leaves, its water needs become very little, and as long as the soil is not too dry, there is no need to water it. Waiting until new sprouts emerge before watering can promote their growth.

3. Strengthen ventilation: The money tree after top sawing is not suitable to grow in an environment with low air quality, and strong ventilation needs to be maintained. Air circulation not only improves low oxygen levels, but also prevents the growth of bacteria.

4. Appropriate fertilization: The money tree needs certain fertilizers to accelerate its growth after being topped. If the temperature is too low, it is not advisable to apply fertilizer. Wait until warm weather, and appropriate fertilizer can promote the growth of new shoots.
