How to care for the newly bought cinnabar root

1. How to care for the newly bought cinnabar root

Cinnabar root is suitable for growing in slightly acidic soil. When you first buy it, in addition to providing it with a suitable potting soil environment, you also need to reduce the stimulation brought by the external environment. Place it in a warm environment with a temperature of about 25°C and proper ventilation. Stop fertilizing temporarily, and water the plants once every 5-7 days on average, making sure to water thoroughly each time. It is afraid of strong light and needs to be placed in a place with sufficient scattered light for maintenance.

2. Specific breeding methods

1. Soil: Cinnabar root is suitable for growing in loose, fertile, well-drained, breathable and slightly acidic sandy soil rich in humus. When cultivating, you can choose leaf mold, coarse sand and unburned rice husk ash and mix them evenly to prepare its nutrient soil to facilitate the growth of the root system.

2. Watering: Cinnabar root likes to grow in a humid environment. When you first buy it, you need to add enough water to keep the soil moist. Under normal circumstances, pay attention to keeping the soil in the pot dry and wet state during daily maintenance, and water it in time if the soil is too dry. In spring and autumn, the temperature is suitable, and watering is sufficient every 5-7 days on average; in summer, when the weather is hot, watering can be done every 3-4 days, and watering can be done around the plants appropriately; in winter, it is best to water once every half a month, and watering is best done in the afternoon.

3. Light: Cinnabar root likes light. When you just buy it, in order to avoid damage to the leaves of the plant, you need to place it in a place with sufficient scattered light for maintenance, or place it on the balcony and provide appropriate shade at noon.

4. Warmth: Cinnabar root is suitable for growing in a warm environment. When you first buy it, you need to keep it in an environment with a temperature of about 25℃ and provide proper ventilation. Under normal circumstances, its most suitable growth temperature is 25℃-30℃. It is not cold-resistant and it is best to keep it indoors in winter, otherwise it is very easy to get frostbite. In winter, you must take insulation measures in advance and keep the temperature at least above 8°C so that it can survive the winter safely.

5. Fertilization: Cinnabar root likes fertilizer, but avoid applying concentrated fertilizer. When you just buy it, you can temporarily stop fertilizing it, and wait until it returns to normal growth state, then resume fertilizing normally. During its normal growth period, it is appropriate to apply a thin layer of decomposed liquid fertilizer once every half a month on average, and you can also appropriately supplement it with nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers to promote its vigorous growth. When applying fertilizer, you should follow the principle of "applying fertilizer frequently and in small amounts". In winter, the temperature is low and the growth rate of plants is relatively slow. You need to reduce or stop fertilizing to avoid fertilizer damage and affect growth next year.
