What soil is suitable for roses?

What soil is suitable for roses?

1. Acidic soil

Roses are suitable for acidic soil, and the pH value should be maintained between 5.6-6.2. Add a little leaf mold when preparing the soil. If the plant grows in alkaline soil with a high pH value, it will be difficult for it to adapt, its growth will gradually weaken, and yellow leaves and branches will appear, affecting its growth. When planting in the north, the potting soil may tend to be alkaline due to long-term watering. You can improve it by adding a little vinegar to it to maintain normal acidity and alkalinity.

2. Breathable drainage

Air permeability and drainage are also very important requirements to ensure that the roots can breathe normally and have permeability. You can add a little perlite, river sand, vermiculite, and small particles when preparing the soil. This can increase air permeability and enhance drainage function. If there is too much water accidentally, it can flow out.

3. Nutritional and fertile

After all, roses have many flowers, so nutrition must be guaranteed to meet basic growth needs. You can add a little organic soil or organic fertilizer. The amount does not need to be too much, just enough to ensure normal flowering. If the soil is too poor, flowering will be affected.

4. Suitable soil

There is not just one type of soil suitable for growing roses. You can use a mixture of leaf mold, perlite, garden soil, and organic fertilizer.
