How to grow red sage in autumn

How to grow red sage in autumn

1. Nutrients

It consumes a lot of nutrients during its growth period, and it can only grow normally if there are sufficient nutrients. It is mainly fertilized with foliar fertilizer, and it needs to be fertilized once a week. The fertilizer should be urea fertilizer, or nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizer. The time for fertilization should be chosen in the morning or afternoon. It is not suitable to fertilize when the sun is strong.

2. Watering

It likes to grow in moist places. The weather in autumn is relatively dry, so it needs more watering. In addition to watering the roots, you also need to spray water on the branches and leaves to keep them moist. The temperature in early autumn is still relatively high. In order to help cool it down, you can spray water mist in the air to increase the humidity. Cleaning its leaves regularly can increase the effect of photosynthesis, which is very beneficial to its growth.

3. Temperature

In autumn, the temperature needs to be maintained between 15 and 25 degrees. As long as the ambient temperature is within this range, it can grow normally. If the temperature outdoors is low, you should move it indoors as soon as possible, especially in northern regions, where the temperature must not be too low.

4. Post-opening and closing processing

After the flowers on the branches have withered, you can prune the branches to concentrate nutrients. After pruning, avoid watering the cuts, as watering on the cuts can easily cause infection and rot. After all the flowers have bloomed, pull it out, because it only blooms for one year and needs to be replanted the next year.
