Cultivation methods and precautions of the rich fern

Cultivation methods and precautions of the rich fern

The rich fern is a very easy plant to grow. The plant prefers a shady and humid growing environment and is very shade-tolerant, but it is most afraid of direct sunlight and has poor cold resistance, so insulation measures need to be taken in winter.

How to grow the rich fern

1. Pruning

The rich fern grows vigorously and it is easy to have dense and messy leaves, so it needs to be pruned regularly to reduce unnecessary nutrient consumption.

2. Lighting

The rich fern likes shade and humidity. The plant is very shade-tolerant, but it is most afraid of strong direct sunlight, otherwise the plant will be sunburned. It is best planted on the north and east balconies of the home.

3. Temperature

The most suitable growth temperature for the rich fern is around 15-25℃. It is best to control the temperature within this range during maintenance, which is most conducive to the growth of the plant. The temperature in winter must not be lower than 10℃.

4. Watering

The rich fern likes moisture. Once the surface of the soil in the pot is dry, it needs to be watered immediately. When the climate is dry, you can also spray water on the leaves several times a day to increase the humidity of the surrounding environment.

5. Fertilization

The demand for fertilizer and water of the rich fern is not high. During the vigorous growth period of the plant, it can generally be fertilized once a month, mainly with dilute compound liquid fertilizer, so as to achieve the purpose of supplementing nutrients.

Precautions for the maintenance of the rich fern

The care of the rich fern in winter requires more attention. After entering winter, the plant's growth and metabolism will become slow, and the demand for fertilizer and water is almost zero, so no fertilizer should be applied to avoid fertilizer damage, root burns, etc.
