How to reproduce peach

The propagation method of peach tree can be cuttings or leaf cuttings, but the success rate of leaf cuttings is not very high. Cuttings would be better and the success rate would be much higher. Its seeds can be propagated, but the growth rate is relatively slow.

Peach breeding time

It is generally more appropriate to choose the time for the reproduction of peach trees after the leaves fall in autumn or when they sprout in spring. The climate during these two time periods is more suitable, and the survival rate of reproduction is the highest.

Method of breeding peach

Propagation of Peach Blossom by Cuttings

First of all, you need to choose branches that are strong and vigorous. The cut position should have a growth point. Place it in a ventilated place to dry for 1 to 2 days. Soak the cut in a carbendazim solution for 30 minutes for further disinfection. Then take it out and directly cut it into a suitable substrate.

Seed propagation of peach

Choose full and plump peach seeds, germinate the seeds for a month or so, use sand as the substrate, sow in March, water, keep the soil moist, weed and fertilize after the seedlings grow, and then transplant them later.

Leaf cutting propagation of peach

Pick off the healthy leaves on the peach tree, being careful to avoid damaging the plant. After successfully removing the leaves, place them in a cool place to dry the wounds. After a few days, you can insert them into the prepared soil.

Things to note when breeding peach

The cuttings for peach tree propagation by cuttings cannot be too old branches. They are highly lignified and have weak growth ability, making them unsuitable for cuttings. Moreover, the removed branches cannot be used directly for cuttings, otherwise they will easily breed diseases and pests, and the entire branch will be infected by bacteria, leading to complete rot. They must be processed before use.
