Cultivation methods and precautions of ink-splashed dendrobium

The Ink-Splashed Dendrobium is easy to grow and has a strong adaptability to the environment. If grown near the window, it can bloom beautiful flowers all year round. The Ink-Splashed Dendrobium blooms particularly actively and has a long flowering period. It is simply the overlord of the orchid world.

How to cultivate ink-splashed dendrobium

1. Watering

It is relatively simple to water the ink-splashed Dendrobium. You need to wait until the soil is completely dry and then water it thoroughly. You can insert your finger into the soil. If the soil feels sandy, it means you need to water it. Water it thoroughly and put it in a ventilated place to dry. Make sure there is no water accumulation on the surface.

2. Lighting

The ink-splashed Dendrobium likes sunlight, but is also relatively shade-tolerant and cannot tolerate exposure to strong light. It is suitable for growing in a diffuse light environment. It can be placed outdoors for maintenance in spring, autumn and winter, and moved indoors during the low temperatures in winter. It cannot be placed outdoors in summer.

3. Fertilizer

It is best not to use organic fertilizer when fertilizing the ink-splashing Dendrobium, as it can easily attract insects. Normally, use compound fertilizer, mix it with water and stir it evenly. Just water the ink-splashing Dendrobium when watering it, twice a month.

4. Pruning

The ink-splashed Dendrobium does not require excessive pruning during its growth period. If there are some dead branches and leaves, it needs to be properly trimmed. After the flowers fade, cut off the pedicels, water it, apply some fertilizer, and wait for the next flowering.

Precautions for the maintenance of ink-splashed dendrobium

The ink-splashed Dendrobium likes an environment with higher humidity. You can usually take a small spray bottle to spray water on the leaves of the Dendrobium and around the flowerpot to maintain a high air humidity. When the temperature is low in winter, you must find a way to supplement the sunlight for the ink-splashed Dendrobium.

In addition, when the temperature is low in winter, you should control watering, or stop watering and fertilizer. The ink-splashed Dendrobium grows slowly in winter. If fertilizer is applied, the roots will be burned, so you must avoid watering and fertilizing, so that it can safely overwinter.
