Cultivation methods and precautions of Taiwan bamboo

Cultivation methods and precautions of Taiwan bamboo

Taiwan bamboo is relatively easy to grow. It is also called water bamboo, umbrella bamboo, etc. It is a plant that likes water and is shade-tolerant. It is often grown into water and stone bonsai, which has a refreshing and unique feeling. Taiwan bamboo can be cultivated in water or in soil, and grows relatively fast.

How to grow Taiwan bamboo

1. Lighting

Taiwan bamboo likes to grow in a shady environment, but if it is grown at home, the leaves will easily be burned due to excessive light, and if the soil evaporation is relatively large, it will cause the plant to become dehydrated.

2. Temperature

Taiwan bamboo is suitable for growing in warm places, but its cold resistance is relatively poor. The suitable temperature for its growth is 15-25 degrees. Potted plants grown at home should be placed in an environment with a temperature of 5-10 degrees to overwinter.

3. Watering

Taiwan bamboo has a relatively high demand for water. When caring for it, you need to water it frequently to keep the soil moist at all times, but the soil in the pot should not be too wet.

4. Soil

The soil for planting Taiwan bamboo must be kept moist and have strong air permeability, so it is most suitable for growing in soil with good water retention and good air permeability. Garden soil can be chosen as the planting medium.

Precautions for the maintenance of Taiwan bamboo

When caring for Taiwan bamboo on a daily basis, you must pay attention to preventing diseases and pests. Although Taiwan bamboo is not easily infected by diseases and pests, its common diseases and pests include leaf blight and red spider mites. You can use thiophanate-methyl to prevent and control leaf blight. When the environment is poorly ventilated and dry, it is easy to be harmed by red spider mites. You can use trichloronate and other agents to kill insects.
