Causes and treatments of yellow lemon leaves

Causes and treatments of yellow lemon leaves

1. Excessive watering

1. Reason: Excessive watering or strong water retention capacity of the potting soil will cause serious water accumulation in the potting soil. As a result, the roots being soaked in water or rotting will affect the roots' ability to breathe and absorb nutrients, leading to yellow leaves.

2. Treatment method: If the yellow leaves are relatively rare, you can stop watering at first. After drying properly, reduce the amount of watering and water on time. The condition will improve within a period of time. If the condition is very serious, you need to remove the plant from the pot and let it dry, or directly change the soil and clean up the damaged roots.

2. Improper fertilization

1. Reason: If too much fertilizer is used for a long time or uncomposted compound fertilizer is used, it is easy to burn its roots. This will cause some roots to be unable to absorb nutrients, leading to malnutrition and yellowing of leaves.

2. Treatment method: If the yellow leaves are in a small area, you can irrigate to make the fertilizer disappear. If the situation is serious and does not improve, you need to cut off the severely yellow leaves and change the soil. When changing the soil, cut off the damaged roots and then replant.

3. The temperature is too high

1. Reason: Lemon trees are not resistant to high temperatures. If they are maintained in a high temperature environment such as summer for a long time, the leaves may turn yellow and dry.

2. Treatment method: It likes a cool environment and should be placed in a relatively cool location for indoor maintenance in summer. If it is inconvenient to move outdoors, certain cooling measures need to be taken, such as setting up sunshade nets, spraying water to cool down, etc.
