Cultivation methods and precautions of ground lotus

How to cultivate ground lotus

1. Soil

Ground orchid likes loose and fertile sandy soil. The better the soil permeability and drainage, the more conducive it is to the growth of the plant. You can choose leaf mold, garden soil, and river sand, and mix them evenly in a ratio of 5:3:2 as the culture soil.

2. Lighting

Ground orchid is suitable for cultivation in an environment with plenty of sunlight. If it is cultivated in a potted plant indoors, it needs to be placed in a sunny place on the balcony or window. If it is cultivated outdoors, it needs to be shaded in summer to avoid direct sunlight that will burn the leaves and plants.

3. Temperature

The ground orchid is not cold-resistant and is suitable for growing in warm places. The most suitable temperature for growth is 10℃-20℃. When the temperature is below 10℃, the plant is prone to frostbite and needs to be moved to a warm indoor place for maintenance.

4. Water and fertilizer

Ground orchid likes moisture and is afraid of waterlogging. Water it in time when the soil is dry, and water it thoroughly without any accumulation of water. Apply fertilizer appropriately during the growing period. Choose well-rotted farm manure and apply it frequently in thin layers to avoid fertilizer damage. Do not use raw fertilizer directly, and do not apply too much organic compound fertilizer.

Precautions for the maintenance of ground lotus

The ground orchid needs to be repotted every 1-2 years. Replacing the potting soil can provide better nutrients to the plant. In the hot and humid summer, ventilation needs to be strengthened to prevent the leaves from getting sick. Water it appropriately when the weather is dry. Try to avoid rain on ground-planted orchids. It is not suitable for growth in areas with high latitudes, so the temperature needs to be controlled if you want to grow it.
