How to slow down the growth of bougainvillea

How to slow down the growth of bougainvillea

1. Arrangement

After receiving the purchased seedlings, carefully open the objects that package them. It is best to use a sharp tool and do not tear them violently with your hands. If it is purchased from a faraway place, the roots will loosen during transportation, and if they are torn, they may be damaged again. After taking it out, divide the seedlings into several parts, remove the rotten or withered leaves on them, let the seedlings spread out naturally, and decide whether to prune them based on their specific shape.

2. Water spray

1. After taking it out, sprinkle some water on its branches and leaves, place it in an area with relatively high humidity and brightness, and let it stand for an hour or two. Wait until the branches and leaves absorb some water before proceeding to the next step.

2. If it is packaged in a pot and mailed, do not loosen the soil or repot it. If the soil is dry, add a little water to moisten it. Also place it in a sufficiently moist and bright area for maintenance. Wait until the branches and leaves are straight, then water it thoroughly. After two or three days, you can let it see the sunlight and manage it normally. When watering it, you can mix some fertilizer in, and when its growth returns to normal, you can put it in a new pot.

3. If the plant is mailed with very little soil on the roots, it will generally shed leaves. You need to spray it with water. You can add some rooting powder to the water, then put it in a pot and place it in a sufficiently moist and bright area. You can put a bag on it to keep it moist. Pay attention to ventilation. Remove the bag after three to five days and gradually increase the intensity of light.

3. Put it in the basin

Do not add fertilizer to the soil when potting it, and do not use pots and soil used for other flowers. The soil should be breathable enough to allow water to penetrate. Try not to use peat. If you do use it, use a smaller pot. After the seedlings have resumed their growth after being potted, you can add some diluted fertilizer to them. It is best to add some fertilizer to the water to ensure their vigorous growth. If its crown has not yet grown, do not add too much water, otherwise the roots will rot if the soil is too wet for a long time. If the newly purchased seedlings grow flower buds, they must be removed to ensure the nutrition of the branches and leaves.
