What fertilizer to use for money tree

What fertilizer to use for money tree

The money tree prefers a moist and warm growing environment. The temperature is above 15 degrees and below 28 degrees, which is its peak growth season. Within this temperature range, as long as the money tree grows healthily, you can apply fertilizer to promote its growth.

Fertilizer for money tree

During the stage when the money tree has many new buds sprouting and the buds growing into leaves, it is recommended to apply nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. You can also choose fertilizers such as urea and bone meal and bury them in the flowerpot to encourage it to sprout more new buds, make the stems thicker, and slowly grow lush branches and leaves.

After all the leaves have unfolded during the growing season, it is recommended to apply more potassium fertilizer. At this time, you can use natural wood ash and sprinkle a thin layer on the surface of the potting soil once every half a month. This will make the stems thicker and the leaves grow wider and thicker.

When the money tree matures, in order to allow it to survive the winter smoothly, you must stop applying nitrogen fertilizer and apply more phosphorus and potassium fertilizers. It is recommended to use potassium dihydrogen phosphate for the money tree during this period, and stop fertilizing when the temperature drops below 15 degrees.

Money tree fertilization method

The method of fertilizing the money tree is relatively simple, but the type of fertilizer is different and the way of fertilization is also different. The base fertilizer is usually solid fertilizer, which needs to be buried at the bottom of the potting soil so that it can take effect slowly, and liquid fertilizer is usually supplemented during the growth period. This kind of fertilizer can be directly watered and is easily absorbed by the roots. If it is solid fertilizer, the soil needs to be dug up and buried, but it should be kept away from the roots to avoid burns.
