For the reproduction of grapes, it is very important to master the method. There are three main reproduction methods, the simplest of which is cutting.

Grape cutting time

It is best to choose the right time for grape cuttings, which is the first step towards success. Cuttings are usually taken in spring. In spring, grapes will begin to sprout and gradually enter a period of accelerated growth. Cuttings during this period can effectively improve the survival rate and the adaptability of new shoots to the environment.

Grape cutting method

Cuttings are a relatively easy method of propagation. Cutting propagation is usually carried out in the summer every year, because the temperature during this period will make the grapes grow rapidly, which can effectively improve the survival rate of propagation. The cuttings must be picked from healthy mother plants, which is very effective in improving the quality of grape fruits. Then soak the branches in water, and when the roots grow, you can plant them in the soil. There is no need to water too much in the early stage, and normal maintenance is enough in the later stage.

Grape cutting rooting

For grape cuttings, use a well-drained and breathable substrate. Choose semi-lignified branches with buds, about 30 cm in length, keep the top leaves, remove the excess leaves, cut the base of the branches obliquely, and root the cuttings into the substrate. Place it in diffuse light and keep the substrate moist. New roots will grow in about half a month. Meeting the above conditions can promote grape rooting and increase the survival rate.
