Is the banyan tree easy to grow?

Is the banyan tree easy to grow?

1. Is it easy to raise?

Banyan trees grow best in warm and humid environments. It is not very drought-tolerant, so it must have sufficient water and high air humidity. In addition, it is also afraid of cold, and low temperatures can cause frostbite to the plant. The climate in the south is more suitable for its growth and it is easier to raise. The air in the north is dry and the winter is cold, so it needs better care.

2. How to maintain

1. Soil: Banyan trees grow well in loose, fertile, slightly acidic soil. You can use leaf mold as the substrate, mixed with garden soil and sand. There should be less sand, just enough to achieve drainage effect.

2. Light: Banyan trees grow best in places with diffuse light. If the light is too strong, it will burn the plant, while insufficient light will cause it to turn yellow and dry. Therefore, while ensuring sunlight, appropriate shade should also be provided in the summer.

3. Watering: Banyan trees need sufficient water to grow. It is more afraid of drought, but has no problem with short-term flooding. Therefore, be sure to water the plants sufficiently and thoroughly, but any accumulated water must be drained out immediately. Usually, when the soil surface is dry, you can water it appropriately.

4. Fertilization: Banyan trees prefer fertilizer. However, when planting bonsai, it is not advisable to apply too much fertilizer. You can choose bean cake or bone meal as base fertilizer, and apply a little cake fertilizer to speed up growth.
