Can nitrogen fertilizer and ferrous sulfate be used to water flowers at the same time (the effect of ferrous sulfate on flowers)

Can nitrogen fertilizer and ferrous sulfate be used to water flowers at the same time (the effect of ferrous sulfate on flowers)

Can ferrous sulfate be applied together with nitrogen fertilizer?

Everyone should be familiar with ferrous sulfate. For flowers that like acid and for flowers from the south, if they are grown in the north, they must be used regularly and in a fixed amount.
When we use ferrous sulfate, we must remember to use it alone as much as possible and not mix it with other fertilizers (such as nitrogen fertilizer).

If ferrous sulfate is used with other fertilizers at the same time, it is very likely to cause a chemical reaction, which will waste fertilizers and reduce fertilizer efficiency, which will greatly reduce the effect of using ferrous sulfate.

How to use ferrous sulfate

The main function of ferrous sulfate is to regulate the acidity of the soil and supplement iron into the soil.

For southern flowers, they prefer acidic soil, and most southern flowers have a relatively large demand for iron.

If the soil is severely alkaline, it will not be able to absorb iron, which will cause the veins of the newly grown leaves to be green and other parts to be yellow. In serious cases, the whole plant will have this situation, so we need to regularly supplement ferrous sulfate.

Ferrous sulfate is very easy to use. If we buy it in granular form, we must first grind it into powder, then add one gram of ferrous sulfate to one liter of water, and then add 1 to 2 drops of vinegar.

Usually, you can use rice vinegar or aged vinegar, both are fine. Just mix them evenly and pour them into the soil in the pot after they melt.

This will adjust the pH of the soil, making it acidic, and fill the soil with iron, which the plants can absorb quickly, ensuring that its leaves remain green and do not turn yellow.

The general frequency of use is to use it once a month during the growing season. If it grows slowly, use it once every two months, and there will be no problem.

Never spray ferrous sulfate on leaves , because the leaves absorb very little ferrous sulfate and it cannot stimulate the pores of the leaves to open quickly.

If it is sprayed on the leaves and remains on the leaves for a long time, it can easily cause leaf burn, making the leaves appear rusty in color, which will then look very ugly.

The best way to use it is to pour it directly into the soil in the pot . After ferrous sulfate is dissolved in water, it will oxidize and turn brown after a while.

Brown ferrous sulfate cannot be used because it can no longer be absorbed by plants. So add two drops of vinegar, which is acidic and can prevent it from oxidizing. Pour it into the potting soil so that it can be absorbed.

This is the correct way to use ferrous sulfate. After you have learned it, the southern flowers you grow, and the alkaline water and soil quality in your home that are not good for growing flowers can be effectively improved, allowing your plant leaves to grow green and vigorously.
