Is Jianlan Hongcao Honghe easy to grow (cultivation methods and precautions of Hongcao Honghe)

The so-called "Red Grass Red Lotus" is a new hybrid of Jianlan (the so-called high-tech grass). There are not many mature seedlings at present. The big farmers who "bet on grass to determine the quality and then do tissue culture" are all raising seedlings, and only a very small part of them enter the market, so the price is relatively high. The characteristics are that it is easy to grow and easy to survive and bloom frequently, which is suitable for the majority of Jianlan lovers .

First, the selection of planting materials

The roots of Jianlan like fresh air. In addition to using tall unglazed clay pots to plant orchids, you should also use loose, breathable, and well-drained granular planting materials to plant Jianlan.

In the northern region, peat soil, pine bark, planting stones, clean gravel, or broken red bricks are generally used as a mixture to form planting materials.

Taking into account the generally low air humidity in northern regions, peat soil accounts for 60%, supplemented by 30% pine bark and 10% planting stone orchids.

Secondly, proper water supply and fertilization

The root system of Jianlan is thick and strong. Although it absorbs more water and nutrients, it is afraid of water accumulation in the pot. The key to the success of orchid cultivation is the watering technique; too much water will cause root rot, and too little water will cause empty roots.

Moreover, excessive watering will cause poor ventilation of the Jianlan root system, acidification of the planting material, root rot and leaf rot, bacterial proliferation, leaf bud rot, and even suffocation of the orchid.

Therefore, daily water supply should be flexibly controlled according to ventilation conditions, dryness and wetness of planting materials, and light intensity.

From late spring to early autumn, orchid seedlings are in the peak growth period. It is also the time when Jianlan is nurturing flower buds and preparing to bloom. It requires more water, and the planting material should be kept moist but not wet.

Again, the choice of orchid planting site

Jianlan prefers a semi-shaded, ventilated and humid environment. Whether it is grown on the ground or on a balcony, an orchid shed or orchid rack should be built to protect it from the direct sunlight from the west at noon and in the afternoon in summer.

In winter and spring, you should pay attention to keeping warm, and in summer and autumn, you should keep the air flowing, the humidity appropriate, and the temperature moderate. You should avoid stuffiness and airtightness. Try to create a "warm winter and cool summer" orchid-growing place.
