How to divide the money tree if it is too big (should I divide the money tree into small seedlings or old seedlings)

How to divide money tree

1) Remove the seedlings from the pot

Before dividing the plants, stop watering for 3 to 5 days to make the soil in the pot slightly dry, which makes it easier to remove the plant from the original pot soil. When removing the plant from the pot, turn the flower pot with your left hand and gently tap the pot wall with your right hand to loosen the pot soil.

If the soil in the pot is full of roots and it is difficult to knock them out in a short time, you should use a flat-nose screwdriver to gently loosen the soil along the inner wall of the pot, and then take the plant out of the pot.

After removing the plant from the pot, shake off the original soil, carefully check the connection between the roots and tubers, and carefully trim off old roots, empty roots, and rotten roots.

Then use a pre-sterilized knife to cut the underground part of the tuber from the weak point, and apply carbendazim powder on the cut to prevent bacteria from infecting the wound, causing the bacteria to harm the tuber and cause rot.

2) Choose suitable soil

The soil for potted money trees should be slightly acidic sandy loam. Avoid using alkaline soil, otherwise it will easily cause the branches and leaves to turn yellow. The soil for cultivation requires loose, breathable and good drainage.

For home potted money trees, it is suitable to mix peat soil, garden soil, clean river sand or perlite, and prepare the culture soil in a ratio of 4:3:3.

3) Planting the ramet seedlings in pots

After separating and cutting the money tree seedlings, apply some carbendazim powder on the wounds of the underground tubers, and let them dry and scab over, then you can plant the divided seedlings in pots.

When planting the division seedlings, the loam should be moistened first, but not too wet, as too wet soil can easily cause wound rot. Then plant the plants in the loam.

Flower lovers should be reminded that the tubers should not be buried too deeply to avoid affecting their later growth. It is best to keep the top of the tuber about 1.5 to 2 centimeters away from the surface of the potting soil.

After planting, the potted plants should be placed in a ventilated place with scattered light and maintained for about 10 to 15 days.

Maintenance method of transplanting money tree seedlings into pots

The Money Tree does not like water, so you should water it less frequently during normal maintenance, just keep the soil in the pot slightly moist but not too dry. The Money Tree likes shade, so you should place it in a well-ventilated place with scattered light.

After the money tree seedlings are transplanted into pots and begin to grow, they should be watered with organic fertilizer solution rich in nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium every 20 days or so.

For example, fermented bone meal, rice water and other organic fertilizer dilutions can also be used for watering with Huaduoduo inorganic fertilizer. But be careful not to apply too much. Only in this way can the money tree grow vigorously and the leaves will be shiny.
