How to grow Raul succulents into old piles How to grow Raul succulents into good condition

Raul is a succulent plant of the Crassulaceae family. It is best cared for in autumn. In the past, Raul mostly grew in Mexico, but now it is a common plant in many parts of the world.

Raul likes a cool, dry and sunny environment. Its surface is very smooth and flat, with obvious bulges on the back of the leaves. The leaves are thick and fleshy, and the color is mostly emerald green. If you look closely at its leaves, you will find a thin layer of white powder on it, and there are jelly-like red dots on the tips of the leaves.

Is Raul succulent easy to raise?

Raul is a typical spring and autumn succulent variety. It is not difficult to maintain in spring and autumn, but it is very difficult to maintain in summer . Many succulent friends' Raul inexplicably loses leaves in the summer, and then turns into water and black rot. Therefore, Raul also ranks high on the list of succulents that "will die in summer".

Raul is not frost-resistant. If the maintenance environment is below 0℃ in winter, it will suffer severe frostbite and the leaves will become completely transparent. However, many succulent lovers say that such crystal clear Raul is quite beautiful.

How to grow Raul succulent into an old pile

1. Get more sun

If you want the Raul to color quickly and grow more side buds, I suggest that flower lovers do not keep it indoors, but put it outdoors in a place with good light for maintenance . Only when photosynthesis is good can anthocyanins be synthesized and the leaves can be thick and bright. Except in summer, it needs to be given full sun . In summer, strong light needs to be shaded, and 2 hours of scattered light a day is enough.

2. Watering should be controlled

The root system of Raul is not very developed, but the leaves have a strong ability to store water , so don't water it frequently . Too much watering will cause it to expand, the roots to rot, and the water to melt.

I suggest watering thoroughly when the soil is dry in spring and autumn . Do not water in summer . Spray some water mist on the soil in the morning and evening. In winter, it is best to water some warm water at noon when the soil is dry .

3. Pruning

If you want to grow Raul into a multi-headed old stump, the key is pruning. During its vigorous growth period, I suggest pinching off the top buds to stimulate the growth of side buds and make the plant fuller.

After pruning, give it some fermented nutrient solution, dilute it 500 times and water it with soil, so that the root system grows stronger and better, the stem is naturally thick, the leaves are plump, the color changes quickly, and the light fragrance is emitted, which makes people feel very comfortable. However, fertilization should be stopped during the summer dormant period, and it is not necessary to care about it during the dormant period.

RAL Maintenance Precautions

1. Soil

When caring for Raul succulents, you should pay attention to the choice of soil. You can use vermiculite, river sand, humus, and other loose and porous materials to prepare the soil to ensure that the root system can enhance drainage.

2. Watering

Please note that you do not need to water a lot during the cultivation process. It is not too late to water after the soil in the pot is completely dry. The specific time can be once every 5 days during the growth stage and once every 10 days in winter .

3. Temperature

Raul does not like cold environment, and its growth temperature needs to be controlled at 15-25℃ , so it is necessary to provide shade and cool down in time in summer.
