When is the best time to plant wheat?

The main production area of wheat in my country is in the north, because the climate conditions in the north are not suitable for growing rice. However, wheat has strong adaptability and survival ability to the environment, so wheat has become the staple food of people in the north.

Northerners are generally whiter than southerners, which is because they have been eating pasta for a long time, and now pasta is also very popular in the south. Therefore, wheat planting has also been vigorously promoted. The following content is about the planting time and planting methods of my country's second largest grain crop.

Wheat planting time

Wheat is divided into spring wheat and winter wheat , so the planting time of wheat is destined to be different. In North China, it is generally sown around November in winter, while in Northeast China it is sown in March or April in spring .

Because there is a thick layer of snow in my country's northeast before winter and the temperature is very low, it is not suitable for wheat growth, so it is generally not planted in winter.

Secondly, the climate in North my country is relatively stable throughout the year, which allows for multiple crop rotations. So wheat is sown in winter just after other crops are harvested in autumn to prevent the land from being abandoned.

Wheat sowing method

1. Seed selection and land preparation

Now wheat varieties are not as single as before, so we can screen them. We first consider the local climate, local soil and other conditions and choose the most suitable varieties.

For example, in areas with less rain, choose drought-resistant ones; in areas with poor soil, choose ones with strong adaptability; in areas with colder weather, choose ones with strong cold-resistance; in rainy areas, choose ones with strong disease resistance, so choose the best one according to the specific situation.

2. Reasonable sowing

Before sowing, we generally need to carry out germination treatment and seed mixing. First, we soak the wheat seeds in water for two days. Then take them out, put them in the medicine and stir them evenly. After leaving them for twenty minutes, rinse them with clean water.

Finally, we wrap the seeds in cotton cloth and hang them above the water surface. After about three days, the seeds will germinate and then they can be sown.

3. Field management

When a thin layer of tender green grows in the wheat field, we can carry out the first fertilization and watering. At this time, watering can be done by irrigation. Fertilization mainly uses urea to promote seedlings. It can be directly spread or watered in water.
