The Century Egg Succulent is a variety that we rarely cultivate. It is a hybrid succulent variety with a very high ornamental value. When it grows up, it is bright red and very beautiful. You can cultivate it if conditions permit. Preserved egg and succulent farming1. Soil selection Preserved egg succulents are suitable for planting in loose, breathable, well-drained, humus-rich sandy neutral or slightly acidic soil. For home cultivation, peat, coarse sand, and perlite can be mixed in a ratio of 3:1:1. When repotting preserved egg succulents that have been cultivated for more than two years, the proportion of granular materials such as perlite can be appropriately increased. 2. Water and fertilizer management Preserved egg succulents have a certain degree of drought tolerance. Watering should not be too much, as excessive watering will cause leaves to fall. During the spring and autumn growing period, just keep the pot soil moist at all times. Preserved egg succulents do not require high fertilizers, and fertilization should not be excessive. Granular slow-release fertilizers can be applied once every six months. 3. Temperature environment Preserved egg succulents do not like heat, and the most suitable temperature for their growth is between 5-20 degrees. If the temperature is lower than 5 degrees in winter, they need to be moved to a relatively warm place indoors for breeding. At the same time, preserved egg succulents like light and sunshine, and they need to be kept in light for about eight hours a day in spring, autumn and winter. Preserved Egg Maintenance PrecautionsDuring the maintenance of the preserved eggs, do not allow water to accumulate. Wait until the soil in the pot is completely dry before watering. Water it once a week in spring and summer. Starting in autumn, you can slowly increase the amount of watering. In addition, although it likes sunlight, it is not tolerant to strong light. If the sunlight is too strong in summer, you need to shade them or bring them indoors. |
