What fruits are easy to grow on the balcony? Which fruit pot is best for growing on the balcony?

Here are some fruits suitable for balcony cultivation. These fruits grown on the balcony not only have a high survival rate, but also the fragrance of the fruit can float all over the house in the future, making people feel relaxed and happy. Plant 2 or 3 kinds of fruit trees and you can eat them all year round.

1. Strawberries

Strawberries can be said to be the number one fruit that is most suitable for balcony cultivation. Strawberry plants are not large, and when we pick them in the greenhouse, we will see that they grow drooping.

Unlike other fruit trees that grow taller and taller with fruits hanging on the branches, fruit trees should be pruned regularly to prevent them from growing too tall and affecting the overall appearance of the potted plant.

The root system of strawberries is not well developed, usually only a dozen centimeters. The flowerpot does not need to be too large in diameter. You can use an ordinary small pot. The strawberries you grow yourself will not be sprayed with pesticides, so you can eat them with more peace of mind.

2. Blueberries

The nutritional value of blueberries mainly lies in their good protective effect on the eyes, but the market price of blueberries is not low. Planting a blueberry tree is much more cost-effective than buying a box of blueberries for twenty or thirty yuan from outside every time.

Experienced flower lovers usually grow two blueberries at a time, because some varieties cannot self-pollinate. As long as you accumulate a certain amount of experience in growing blueberries, the fruiting rate will increase year by year.

3. Figs

If you usually plant figs in the countryside, they grow very thick and large, and one tree can produce thousands of fruits. However, the growth characteristics of figs are very simple, that is, the branches continue to grow, and fruits continue to grow at the connection between the leaves and the stems.

Even if the seedlings are relatively small, they can continue to bloom and bear fruit, so we can plant potted figs on the balcony. As long as we ensure sufficient light and keep up with fertilizer and water, they can bloom and bear fruit on your balcony all year round. Generally, as long as the temperature is not lower than 15 degrees. The fruit is big and sweet, and figs are basically free of diseases and pests when planted on the balcony, and maintenance is also very simple.

4. Lemon

Normal lemon trees are very tall. When choosing varieties, you should pay attention to choosing varieties that are suitable for potted plants. For dwarf varieties, the lemons must be exposed to more sunlight and attention should be paid to the frequent application of thin fertilizers.

The fruiting lemons will slowly begin to emit a lemon scent. When it drifts from the balcony into the room, the whole room will be filled with the lemon fruity scent, which is very pleasant.

5. Cherry

Cherry is a popular fruit, rich in vitamins, many people want to grow but can't because it needs two trees to pollinate and grow to a large size to bear fruit. Now there is a kind of cherry that is more suitable for planting in pots, called dwarf cherry.

When its height is 30 cm, it can bloom and bear fruit. The longer it is raised, the greater the flowering volume and the more fruits it will bear, and one person can also pollinate and bear fruit.

So we can choose dwarf cherries, artificially pollinate them when they bloom, and they will be full of fruits after the flowers fall. In a few months, you can eat the potted cherries you planted yourself. However, growing cherries on the balcony also needs to experience low temperatures in winter, at least to ensure that the temperature is below ten degrees.

6. Cherry tomatoes

Cherry tomatoes are what we often call small tomatoes. They are more suitable for balcony cultivation than normal tomatoes. In order to ensure more fruits, try not to eat the seeds yourself. Buying good quality seeds will make it easier for the fruits to hang on the branches.

If you want cherry tomatoes to taste less sour than when you buy them, you need to fertilize them frequently. Mature cherry tomatoes will have a long fruiting period and will emit a unique cherry tomato aroma.

7. Pitaya

There is basically no need to buy seedlings for pitaya. Cuttings have the highest survival rate, and new branches can grow in half a month. After normal repotting, a pitaya tree can be grown.

The biggest feature of the pitaya tree is that it is drought-resistant. It does not need to be watered too much when potted. Even if you are not home for a few days, the pitaya will not die. And when choosing a potting container, you should choose a container with good drainage, generally a clay pot with excellent air permeability.

9. Passion fruit

Although people don't often eat passion fruit directly, passion fruit goes well with any beverage. Moreover, passion fruit is suitable for planting in the north and south. Just planting one tree can complete pollination, especially when it is grown outdoors, it is easier to climb all over the shelf.
