Can calcium sulfate be used as fertilizer? How to apply it appropriately?

Calcium sulfate is a calcium fertilizer that can be used as a soil conditioner for saline-alkali land and as a peanut yield increaser. Many plants can be fertilized with calcium sulfate, which is a very good plant fertilizer.

Calcium sulfate can be used as fertilizer. Generally, applying calcium sulfate fertilizer to the soil can adjust the acidity of the soil. For example, some quicklime, limestone, calcium sulfate and other fertilizers can effectively reduce the damage of metal ions in the soil to plant roots.

Calcium sulfate fertilizer production

Natural gypsum ore is crushed and ground into gypsum powder, which can be used directly as calcium sulfate fertilizer. Generally, the calcium sulfate content in natural gypsum should be greater than 80%, and the fineness should all pass through a 250-micron standard sieve. Phosphogypsum is very fine crystals and can be applied directly.

Calcium sulfate fertilizer use

1. Supplementation of basal fertilizer

When applying calcium sulfate fertilizer, you can apply it as base fertilizer according to the growth needs of the plant. Limestone, wood ash, etc. are all good calcium fertilizer choices, but do not apply too much. We can mix calcium sulfate fertilizer and soil evenly to make the root system of the plant grow better.

2. Foliar spray

Calcium sulfate fertilizer can be applied to plants through the leaves of the plants, which can make the leaves of the plants grow better and improve the quality of the fruits. However, the concentration of calcium sulfate fertilizer should not be too high. During the growth period of the plants, the fertilizer solution can be applied once every 10-15 days, and each spray can be about 3-4 times.
