Wild golden nanmu grows in broad-leaved forests at an altitude not exceeding 1,500m. Golden nanmu mainly grows in Sichuan, Yunnan, western Hubei, Guizhou and provinces south of the Yangtze River in my country. Golden nanmu has a large demand for light and poor cold resistance. Only by planting in tropical and warm temperate regions can the needs of golden nanmu seedlings for light, water and temperature be met.

How to plant golden nanmu

Phoebe nanmu reproduces its fruits by seeds, which are then harvested and the outer peel is rubbed off. The seeds are oily and have a short lifespan, so they can be sown after drying.

If sowing in the spring of the following year, shade is needed during the seedling stage. When the seedlings grow true leaves, they can be thinned out or transplanted. Generally, one-year-old seedlings are sufficient. If large seedlings are used for greening, the beds can be changed for cultivation for 3-5 years. Large seedlings must be planted with soil and some leaves must be cut off. When planting, choose a warm, humid environment with fertile soil.
