Temperature requirements for cucumber cultivation

Cucumber planting is generally in the form of sowing seeds, and the germination needs to be soaked in advance. The cucumber seeds are first soaked in warm water at 55-60℃ for 10-15 minutes, and then continue to soak in warm water at about 30℃ for 2-6 hours. They can be sown after germination.

Generally, the temperature for cucumber planting should be controlled at around 26-28℃ , and the temperature difference between day and night should be maintained at around 10℃ . It should be noted that the soil temperature should also be kept at around 20℃ as much as possible.

Cucumber growing temperature

Cucumbers need a warm and humid environment to grow. The most suitable growth temperature is 18~30℃ , and the best temperature is 24℃ . Too high or too low temperature will cause poor growth and development of cucumbers.

Cucumber is a light-loving plant and must have sufficient sunlight to be suitable for yellow light growth. During the yellow light growth period, try to keep the lighting time at 8-11 hours, and artificial light can be supplemented when necessary.

Cucumber planting time

Cucumbers are grown in all regions of my country and can be planted in all seasons except winter. The best time to sow is in spring when the temperature is stably above 18°C.

In the warm areas of the south, it can be planted around March, while in the northern regions, the temperature rises slowly in spring, so it can be planted around April. It can also be planted in late May to mid-June in summer, and in July-August in autumn. The growing cycle of cucumbers is about two months. Under normal conditions, we usually eat cucumbers in summer, and cucumbers mature in summer taste the best.
