Where does Dendrobium grow?

Dendrobium is suitable for growing on sunny hillsides or ditches at an altitude of 300-800 meters. Because Dendrobium is a shallow-rooted tree species, it is suitable for growing in loose soil and deep sandy loam. It cannot be planted and grown in places with strong winds.

The origin of Dendrobium is Lin'an. It is currently planted in most parts of my country, mainly in the south of the Yangtze River. It is only produced in parts of Anhui and Henan in the north. However, it is distributed in most provinces and cities south of the Yangtze River, with the widest distribution in Yunnan, followed by Fujian and Jiangxi.

Dendrobium growth environment

1. Growth habits

Wild Dendrobium officinale usually grows at an altitude of 3,000 meters. Most of them grow on trees and rocks. They like warm, humid, semi-shady environments and are not cold-resistant.

2. Growth temperature

The temperature suitable for its growth is between 18 and 30 degrees Celsius, and 16 to 21 degrees Celsius is the most suitable during growth. It is best to maintain the average temperature difference between morning and evening at 10 to 15 degrees Celsius.

It requires sufficient light for its growth, and the amount of shading in spring, summer and autumn should be controlled between more than 30% and less than 50%. Only such a lighting environment can enable it to sprout a large number of flower buds.
