Rose cutting time

Rose cuttings are generally taken during the plum rain season, specifically from April to May in the first half of the year and from September to October in the second half of the year. The suitable temperature for rose cuttings is 20-25℃, which is more conducive to improving the survival rate.

Rose cutting method

1. Select branches and leaves : For rose cuttings, cut healthy branches with a length of 5-7 cm. Cut off the leaves at the bottom, keep the top 2-3 leaves, and soak them in carbendazim solution for about 30 minutes.

2. Prepare the soil : We need to choose loose, breathable, and water-retaining soil, but not too loose. You can also use perlite and vermiculite as soil during the cutting period. Perlite and vermiculite should be mixed in a 1:1 ratio.

3. Prepare for cuttings : Dip the treated branches in a little rooting water, then insert them into the prepared substrate, and finally place them in a dimly lit and ventilated place.

Precautions for rose cuttings

After the roses are grafted, they should be protected from direct sunlight. On sunny days, they should be covered with plastic film in time and sprayed with water to prevent the leaves from withering and falling. After the cuttings have taken root, the plastic film should be removed and placed in a well-lit place. The plants should be sprayed with chlorothalonil wettable powder regularly to prevent powdery mildew and brown spot disease.
