How long does it take for Pyracantha to bear fruit?

Pyracantha has been planted for several years.

Generally speaking, the cuttings of Pyracantha will bloom and bear fruit after the second year. However, the cuttings do not have a taproot system, and flowering and bearing fruit in the second year will affect the growth of the tree, so it is necessary to thin out the flowers. If it is a seedling, it will take longer to bear fruit, usually three to five years.

Pyracantha fruiting time

Pyracantha usually blooms in early spring in March every year and starts to bear fruit in autumn. The fruits can start to grow in August and are fully mature in November.

Usually, Pyracantha has a great demand for nutrients during its flowering period. Pay attention to the sufficient amount of water and fertilizer. When the soil is dry, replenish water in time to avoid water shortage of Pyracantha, which will cause drought in the plant.

Pyracantha Planting Tips

1. Sowing time : Soak the picked Pyracantha seeds in water. After the pulp becomes soft, you can rub off the pulp with your hands, take out the clean seeds, and then dry them in a cool place. You can sow them in spring or autumn, depending on the choice of flower lovers.

2. Seedling cultivation : Sprinkle the seeds evenly on the soil, cover with a thin layer of soil, water thoroughly once, do not spray the covering soil, expose the seeds, cover with a thin layer of plastic film, and reduce water after the seeds germinate.
