Colorful pepper planting time and method

Colorful pepper planting time

Colorful peppers like a warm environment and are usually planted in spring, specifically between March and May. The temperature at this time is suitable and they can grow and germinate better after planting. Note that they should not be planted too late in the south, otherwise the seedlings will find it difficult to grow under strong light, and they should not be planted too early in the north, otherwise the low temperature will inhibit the seeds from taking root.

How to plant colorful peppers

1. Germination

Prepare plump and healthy seeds, soak them in clean water for about 8 to 12 hours, then wrap the soaked seeds with wet cloth and put them in a container. Place them in an environment of 25 to 30 degrees for germination. Rinse the seeds with water every day. After about 5-7 days, when the seeds turn white, they can be sown.

2. Planting

Prepare loose, fertile, well-drained soil, then water the soil thoroughly, spread the seeds evenly on the soil, cover it with a 0.5 cm thick layer of thin soil, and then cover it with plastic wrap to keep it moist and warm, and wait for the seedlings to emerge. During this period, water them in time to keep the soil moist.

Things to note when planting colorful peppers

Colorful peppers grow slowly in high temperatures or rainy weather in summer, so they need to be watered in time when they are dry. If they are planted in the ground, drainage ditches should be repaired before planting to prevent flowers and leaves from falling. Insect pests can be sprayed according to the specific situation.
