Prune dead flowers in time

When the Kalanchoe blooms, it is composed of several small flowers that form a big flower. Each small flower blooms and withers at a different time. After each small flower withers, it must be gently cut off with small scissors!

After cutting off the dead flowers, the flower branches will have more nutrients to supply new flower buds to grow.

When the entire flower head has faded, use scissors to cut off the first pair of leaflets from the bottom of the flower branch, and keep the second pair of leaves.

Repotting

After the first flowering period of Kalanchoe is over, you can change the pot for it. When repotting, do not repot with bare roots. Keep the original soil and change the Kalanchoe to a larger pot. Add an appropriate amount of organic fertilizer to the bottom of the pot and add new soil to provide the Kalanchoe with new nutrients for a second flowering.

▼Take the Kalanchoe out of the flowerpot

▼Kalanchoe likes loose and breathable soil. You can mix it with nutrient soil, perlite and a small amount of bone meal.

▼When repotting, you can clean up diseased and weak branches, dead leaves, etc. in time, then water it thoroughly, place it in a cool and ventilated place for a few days, and then you can maintain it normally.

Temperature control

Kalanchoe is not heat-resistant. After the first flowering period, the temperature will generally continue to rise in May and June. When the temperature reaches 30 degrees, the growth of Kalanchoe will be hindered. Therefore, if we want Kalanchoe to continue to bloom, we must grasp this time and spray more water around the Kalanchoe to lower the temperature.

Get more sun

Kalanchoe likes sufficient light. Once there is insufficient light, the branches and leaves will grow too long and it will be difficult to form flower buds. Therefore, if you want the Kalanchoe to continue blooming, you must give it 6 hours of light every day.
