1. Variety selection

2. Seed treatment

Soak the autumn lettuce seeds in clean water for 5 to 6 hours, take them out and filter out the water, place them in the light at a temperature of 15-16 degrees to germinate, they will turn white in about 2-3 days, and then they can be sown. It is appropriate to sow about 1.5 grams of seeds per square meter of seedbed area.

3. Reasonable planting

Autumn lettuce can be planted in deep trenches and high ridges. Because it cannot tolerate waterlogging, it is best to use deep trenches and high ridges for autumn cultivation to prevent heavy rain. After transplanting, shade measures should be taken and attention should be paid to drainage during the rainy season to reduce the occurrence of waterlogging.

Precautions for planting autumn lettuce

The growing period of autumn lettuce is short, so you must seize the time to water and fertilize. After the seedlings have grown, apply 5 kg of urea per mu, then water, and then cultivate the soil to promote root development. When the plants are in clusters, apply the second topdressing with water. Apply 15-20 kg of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium compound fertilizer per mu. When the stems begin to swell, apply the third topdressing. Apply 20 kg of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium compound fertilizer per mu, and no more topdressing will be applied afterwards.
