How to repot azaleas bought online

Azalea is a flower plant that many flower lovers like to grow. Its bright flowers are known as "azalea". There are now many varieties and colorful colors.

The flowering period of azalea is relatively long and its ornamental value is particularly high. Many flower lovers purchase azaleas online, and the azaleas are sent to them by express delivery .

When you receive azaleas, the first thing you usually do is to repot them. Many azaleas are sent with soil balls, which can be repotted, and some come with pots .

If the azalea is in a pot, you don't need to change the pot first. You can keep it as is . Of course, you can change the pot if you want. Here is a simple way to change the pot of azalea.

First, choose the pot and mix the soil

Choose a flowerpot of the right size, the pot diameter should not exceed half of the crown diameter. The soil should be acidic, with a pH value between 5 and 6.

Such acidity is suitable for the growth of azalea, which requires loose, breathable, fertile soil rich in humus. Do not use sticky soil, as it is almost impossible to grow azalea.

Second, stop watering before repotting.

Wait until the pot soil is separated from the pot wall before taking it out, remove about one-third of the old soil, and check the root system. If there are old roots or rotten roots, you can trim them appropriately. After trimming, soak them in carbendazim solution to prevent infection and rot.

Third, before putting on the basin

Spread a layer of broken tiles and coarse particles at the bottom of the flowerpot, then cover it with a layer of prepared nutrient soil and plant the azalea.

After planting, fill it with nutrient soil, compact the soil, and water it thoroughly to allow the roots to take root. You can also add rooting powder to the water to promote the growth of the plant roots.

Fourth, maintenance and management after repotting

Generally, this time is about 2 weeks. Don't water too much during this period. Wait until the soil turns white before watering. At the same time, you can't fertilize to avoid burning the roots. At the same time, you can prune it appropriately to reduce the waste of nutrients on the branches and leaves.
