Mung bean planting time and method

Mung bean planting time

It is necessary to choose the right time to plant mung beans. Mung beans themselves like a warm environment. The temperature begins to rise in spring, which is more suitable for the growth of mung beans. Therefore, mung beans can be sown in May in spring and June in summer every year, and clear weather needs to be chosen for sowing.

Mung bean planting method

1. Planting soil

Planting mung beans requires providing suitable soil for growth. It is suitable for growing in loose, fertile, organic-rich and well-drained soil. Therefore, humus soil or yellow loam can be used for planting mung beans, and the soil needs to be disinfected before planting.

2. Processing seeds

Before planting mung beans, the seeds need to be properly processed. First, you need to select seeds with full grains and healthy growth. Then you can place the seeds in a well-lit environment to dry for a day, and then sow them on absorbent cotton cloth. After the mung beans show signs of germination, you can sow them.

3. Seeding and planting

Before sowing, the soil needs to be renovated, watered in advance to keep it moist, then sow the germinated seeds in the soil and cover them with a thin layer of soil. After planting, spray pesticides on the soil regularly to prevent pests from eating the seeds, which will prevent the mung beans from germinating and growing.

Notes on planting mung beans

After sowing mung beans, you need to observe the growth of the seedlings. If you find a shortage of seedlings in the field, you need to replenish them in time. After planting, you can water them thoroughly. If there is no rain, you need to continue watering until the transplanted seedlings sprout new roots or grow new green leaves.
