Can peacock arrowroot be hydroponically cultivated?

Peacock Arrowroot can be grown hydroponically, but it is generally better to grow it in soil because its roots are curved and thick, which does not look good and affects the appearance. When the soil of the soil-grown Peacock Arrowroot is dry, water it in time. For hydroponics, change the water once a week. High humidity will easily cause root rot.

Peacock arrowroot hydroponic cultivation method

1. Plant selection: For hydroponic peacock arrowroot, it is best to choose healthy, pest-free, small soil-grown plants. If the plant is too large, it is difficult to choose a hydroponic container, and it is easy to cause the container to tip over, making it inconvenient to maintain in the later stage.

2. Clean the plant: First take out the soil-grown peacock plant and rinse its roots with clean water. Try not to have any mud or sand left, otherwise the water quality of the hydroponic culture will be turbid, causing the plant to grow slowly.

3. Plant maintenance: The hydroponic culture of the peacock plant cannot be completely away from the soil. First, you need to place a layer of expanded clay in the hydroponic container to facilitate drainage, then put in a clean plant, add the prepared substrate and compact it, and finally add another layer of expanded clay on the container.

Precautions for water-growing peacock arrowroot

1. Water: The leaves of the hydroponic peacock plant may curl up. You can put it in a cool place sheltered from the wind, spray clean water on the leaves in time, and change the water every two days or so. The leaves will gradually return to normal and new roots will grow after 10 days.

2. Fertilizer: Diluted nutrient solution can be added to the peacock taro in the later stage of hydroponics. Nutrient solution can be added once every 3 to 4 weeks. Hydroponics does not require frequent water changes, as long as the water level in the container does not drop.
